MICHAEL RICHARD MUCHA SR. 1948 – 2021 Michael “Mooch” Richard Mucha Sr. age 73 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at his residence. Michael was born on April 1, 1948 to Philip and Olga (Lagodich) Mucha in Hartford, CT. He was raised and schooled in Bloomfield, CT and he graduated from Bloomfield High School with the class of 1966. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and “Mooch” proudly served his country for twenty-two years. After retirement, Michael and his family settled in Plattsmouth, where he enjoyed many years with close family and friends. Michael loved to shoot, hunt and fish and was very involved with Veteran causes. He was a proud member of CVMA (Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association). He was an active full patch member who joined on August 13th 2012 and became a lifetime member on March 2nd of 2018. The CVMA community remembers him as a veteran with a heart of gold who would help any veteran at any time or any place. He was active in numerous fund-raising events over the years and donated much time and talent to the organization. Michael was also a member of Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 of Plattsmouth. He will be remembered by his family and for his incredibly kind heart and warmth. He never met a person he couldn’t be friends with and to know him was to love him. He taught us all strength, compassion, and selflessness. “Keep your knees in the breeze brother, with your chrome ponytail flowing freely. Rest easy. We got it from here.” He is survived by his longtime partner: Marla Broderick of Plattsmouth, NE, a woman he called his angel who was his true soulmate; two sons: Michael “Rick” Mucha Jr. of Union, NE; Joe Mucha and wife Jacquelynn of Plattsmouth, NE; three daughters: Sandy Hargett of Bellevue, NE; Erin Gustafson and husband James of Plattsmouth, NE; Jen Mucha of Plattsmouth, NE; seven grandkids; one great granddaughter on the way; four brothers: Al Mucha of Tacoma, WA; Phil Mucha and wife Hsianglan of Tacoma, WA; Danny Mucha and wife Diane of East Granby, CT; Jack Mucha and wife Karen of Gilbert, NC; and the mother of his sons: Laurel Mucha of Meyers, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; many friends and his CVMA family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents: Philip and Olga Mucha. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 to at 8:00 P.M., on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November, 12, 2021 at Omaha National Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the CVMA and the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard, Military Funeral Honors Team of Bellevue, NE.
