AMY JO GAWRYCK 1972 - 2026 Amy Jo Gawryck, age 54 of Nebraska City, NE, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. She was born on July 29, 1972 to Daniel Joseph Gawryck and Patricia Ann (Foran) Gawryck in Omaha, NE. Amy Jo was raised and schooled in Murray and she graduated from Conestoga High School with the class of 1990. Amy is survived by her father: Daniel Gawryck of Murray, NE; her two daughters: Corrie Lusch and her fiancé Michael Riley, Jr. of Glenwood, IA and Rebecca Lusch of Plattsmouth, NE; four grandchildren: Lucy Lynch, Wren Powell, Emmett Riley, and Sloane Riley; two brothers: Daniel Gawryck, Jr. of Austin, TX and Michael Gillogly of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Laura Weatherby and her husband Troy of Plattsmouth, NE and Cheryl Johnson and her husband Neil of Nebraska City, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Amy Jo was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Gillogly and her mother, Patricia Gawryck. Few words can define Amy Jo. Merrymaker. Free spirit. Enigma. But her favorite title of all, was Grandma. Anything was possible with Grandma Amy. Covering our entire bodies in temporary tattoos? Let’s do it! An entire gallon of apple juice straight from the bottle? Absolutely! The play lasted all day and she never showed up empty handed. Each visit provided a new treasure for each of “her babies.” To watch Amy with her grandkids was to witness pure, unadulterated joy. Amy simply had “IT.” She was captivating, intriguing, and drew everyone in. It’s impossible to remember her laugh without smiling. She was a party. We weren’t ready for the party to end. She laughed in the face of the status quo and lived life on her own terms. “I’m here for a good time, not here for a long time.” Visitations will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Roby Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating.
