ARLENE CARYL MISNER 1936 – 2017 Arlene Caryl (Buethe) Misner age 80 of Plattsmouth, NE formerly of Murray, NE passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Plattsmouth Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 21, 1936 to Carl Henry "Hank" and Ada Marie (Sodmann) Buethe in Auburn, NE. She was raised in Auburn area and was baptized at Stutheit Lutheran Church on May 3, 1936 and was confirmed on May 28, 1950 by Pastor R. H. Rosenkoetter. Arlene attended District 66 Country School and graduated from Bratton-Union High School in Humboldt, NE. After graduating from high school, Arlene worked at a sewing factory and attended Beauty School receiving her degree in Cosmetology. She met Robert Lee Misner and they were united in marriage on March 24, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE. Arlene and Robert made their home in Gering, NE and later in Perry, IA for two years. Then they moved to Murray, NE. Arlene worked as a telephone operator at Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company for three and a half years and then at Mutual of Omaha for seventeen years. In the early 1990's she returned to school and studied para legalism, attending Metro Community College and later Bellevue College graduating in 1994 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminology. Then she worked at various places until retirement. After retiring, Arlene became an officer of the Sarpy County Juvenile Court for four years and she was also a CASA volunteer. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth, NE. Arlene is survived by her son: Mark Misner of Lewes, DE; daughter: Barbara "Barb" Baker and husband Howard of Plattsmouth, NE; two grandchildren: Shauna Bowman and Levi Bowman; great grandson: Jackson Dillon, her sister-in-law: Millie Buethe of Plattsmouth, NE; nephew: Marlyn Buethe of Plattsmouth, NE; niece: Rhonda Heim and husband Dennis of Plattsmouth, NE; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Hank and Ada Buethe, husband: Robert Misner, and her brother: Ronald Buethe. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Monday, March 13, 2017 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Lloyd Stuhr officiating. Her Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
