BONNIE JEAN BETHEL 1938 – 2013 Bonnie Jean (Shoemaker) Bethel Age 75 of Plattsmouth, Nebraska passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Papillion Manor Nursing Home in Papillion, Nebraska. She was born on April 14, 1938 to James A. and Thelma Francis (Ingram) Shoemaker in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Bonnie was born, raised, and schooled in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She attended and graduated from Nebraska City High School. Bonnie met and later married Jerry Glen Bethel on December 30, 1955 at First United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Bonnie & Jerry made their home on their farm north west of Plattsmouth. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a homemaker. Bonnie worked for 15 years at Shedd Foods and she also worked at Coast to Coast and True Value in Plattsmouth. Bonnie was a 50 year member of First United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Women, and 15 years with Teamsters Local #554. She is survived by her Husband: Jerry Bethel of Plattsmouth, Daughter: Karen Carnes & husband Tracy of Glenwood, IA, Son: Jerry Lynn Bethel of Plattsmouth, Six Grandchildren: Aimee Harviston & husband Justin of Bella Vista, AR, Crystal King & husband Carl of Bella Vista, AR, Whitney Moyer & husband Ed of Nebraska City, Jess Bethel of Plattsmouth, Jenna Carnes of Glenwood, IA, Kaylen Carnes of Glenwood, IA, Five Great Grandchildren: Alexis Harviston, Emily Harviston, Camden King, Chesleigh King, Levi Harviston, and Brother: Ron Shoemaker & wife Betty of Nebraska City. Bonnie was preceded in death by her Parents: James & Thelma Shoemaker and Bonnie's Grandmother: Eva Ingram. Funeral Service: 10 AM, Tuesday, August, 20, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth with Pastor Kurt Stecker and Pastor Larry Biederman officiating and Donna Glynn as organist. The Pallbearers are Scott Carnes, Leonard Kaffenberger, Tony Moreno, Jerry Sands, Bob Shoemaker, and Scott Shoemaker. Visitations: 1-9 PM with Family receiving Relatives & Friends 6-8 PM, Monday, August 19, 2013 at Roby Funeral Home, Plattsmouth. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The Family suggests Memorials to First United Methodist Church.
