CARLENE SUE CALDER 1948 – 2024 Carlene “Suzi” Sue (Haith) Calder, age 76 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Suzi was born on April 28, 1948 to Carl Eugene Haith and Margaret Louise (Farney) Haith in Auburn, NE. She was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth and she graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1966. After graduating from high school, Suzi attended Wayne State Teachers College. She met Alan Kraeger and they made their home in Peru, NE and in Omaha as Alan was a teacher at Omaha Westside High School. After Alan passed away, Suzi moved to Plattsmouth and she worked as a special education paraprofessional at Plattsmouth High School. Suzi met James “Jim” Calder and they later married on August 1, 1981 at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Plattsmouth. Suzi and Jim lived in Plattsmouth, Cozad, NE, Hooper, NE, and Bridgeport, NE where Jim was the superintendent of schools. In 2022, they moved back to Plattsmouth. She is survived by her husband: James “Jim” Calder of Plattsmouth, NE; two daughters: Alison Bonner and her husband Patrick of Auburn, AL and Elizabeth Calder of Scottsbluff, NE; four grandchildren: Lilly “Sky” Caldwell, Haven Bonner, Cash Bonner, and Jaymeson Calder; four brothers: Thomas “Tom” Haith of Montrose, CO, Greg Haith and his wife Tonda of Plattsmouth, NE, Steve Haith and his wife Cheryl of Mason, MO, and Jeff Haith and his wife Trish of Plattsmouth, NE; two sisters: Kae Holman of Plattsmouth, NE and Amy Stanley and her husband Steve of Plattsmouth, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Margaret Haith, her first husband: Alan Kraeger, and her son: Jason Kraeger. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Plattsmouth with Reverend Mavis Hall and Reverend Mark Selvey co-officiating, and Nancy Nichols as organist. Her Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
