DECIE COLLENE GIBSON 1945 – 2019 Decie Collene (Harris) Gibson age 74 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Douglas County Health Center in Omaha, NE. She was born on April 1, 1945 to Thurman John “Red” and Addie Belle (Hirsh) Harris in Stanton, IA. Decie was raised and schooled in Glenwood, IA graduating with the class of 1963. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Army and served her country. Decie met Stanley “Stan” LeRoy Gibson and they were later married on February 7, 1967. Decie and Stan made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth. She worked in housekeeping at Midlands Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, and Nebraska Medicine. Decie also worked at the Plattsmouth Senior Center and delivered meals for ‘Meals on Wheels’ program. She is survived by her husband: Stan Gibson of Plattsmouth, NE; son: Tuffy Gibson of Plattsmouth, NE; two daughters: Geri Draper and husband Rod of Plattsmouth, NE; Jodie Gibson of Plattsmouth, NE; five grandchildren: Ryan Draper, Makenna Draper, Chance Draper, Josh Gibson, and Jaylinn Rice; three great grandchildren: Grayson Draper, Amelia Draper, and Freya Draper; two brothers: T.J. Harris and wife Martha of Glenwood, IA; Albert Harris of Rogers, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Red and Addie Harris, brother: Allen, three sisters: Carolyn, Bernice, and Freda, and a grandson: Koby Draper. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. with family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 4, 2019 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Military Rites will be conducted by Nebraska Army National Guard, Military Funeral Honor Guard.
