DWAINE JOSEPH STODOLA 1937 – 2023 Dwaine Joseph Stodola age 85 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He was born on October 16, 1937 to Otto Stodola and Irma (Shera) Stodola in Rock Bluff, NE. Dwaine was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth. He attended Rock Bluff School in rural Plattsmouth and Plattsmouth High School. Dwaine met the love of his life, Edna Jean McCartney and they were later married on May 2, 1960 in Nebraska City, NE. Dwaine and Jean made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth. He worked as a truck driver for the Plattsmouth Lumber Yard, Lyman Richey Sand & Gravel Company, Plattsmouth Ready Mix, and for Kenny Todd until he retired in 1999. Dwaine was a member of First Christian Church in Plattsmouth. He is survived by his wife: Jean Stodola of Plattsmouth, NE; daughter: Becky Hall and her husband Bryan of Plattsmouth, NE; son: Marvin Stodola of Hermitage, TN; son-in-law: Bruce Thieman of Delaware, OH; eight grandchildren: Stephanie Kearney and her husband Patrick, Nathan Golub and his wife Randa, Kimberly Pellissier and her husband Mike, Amanda Carr and her husband Gary, Deanna Lucke and her husband Kyle, Courtney Mantlo and her husband Jeffery, Zachary Hall, and Lindsey Maybray and her husband Steven; eleven great grandchildren: Amelia Maybray, Oliver Maybray, June Maybray, Henry Maybray, Stella Mantlo, Brendan Kearney, Saoirse Kearney, Rileigh Bolender, Bram Bolender, Corbin Lucke, and Arlo Lucke; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, cousins and friends. Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents: Otto and Irma Stodola, his daughter: Brenda Thieman, and his daughter-in-law: Shara Stodola. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at First Christian Church in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. The Pallbearers will be Gary Carr, Steve Cole, Zachary Hall, Steven Maybray, Mitch McCartney, and Steve Post. His Final Resting Place will be at Rock Bluff Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests Memorials to the First Christian Church.
