ELIZABETH JOSEPHINE SHEARD 1936 - 2015 Elizabeth "Betty" Josephine (Dietl) Sheard age 79 of Bellevue, NE passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Betty was born on March 26, 1936 to Joseph Andrew and Bernardine Elizabeth (Carper) Dietl in Weeping Water, NE. She was raised and schooled in Weeping Water and graduated from Nehawka High School with the class of 1953. She met Clyde David Sheard Sr. and they were later married on May 4, 1957 in Papillion, NE. Betty and Clyde made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth, NE until 1968 when they moved to Bellevue, NE. Betty was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a homemaker. Betty worked as a Private Duty Certified Nurse's Aide in Omaha, NE until she retired in 1995, but continued to care for her family until she was no longer able. She is survived by her four sons: Clyde Sheard Jr. and wife Debra of Bellevue, NE, Andy Sheard and wife Kelly of Bellevue, NE, Mike Sheard and wife Kelly of Bellevue, NE, Kevin Sheard of Bellevue, NE, three daughters: Deana Pankievicz and husband Don Sr. of Omaha, NE, Mary Vokes and husband Kenny of Bellevue, NE, Amy Hawbaker and husband Shad of Omaha, NE, thirty eight grandchildren, forty six great grandchildren, four brothers: Robert Dietl and wife Anita of La Palma, CA, James Dietl and wife Elizabeth of Beaver Lake, NE, Donald Dietl and wife Kathy of Hemet, CA, Ronald Dietl and wife Colleen of South Bend, WA, two sisters: Patricia Sampson and husband James of Plattsmouth, NE, June Adsit of Plattsmouth, NE, best friend: Rosemary Redden of Nebraska City, NE, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Bernardine Dietl, husband: Clyde Sheard Sr., daughter: Vickie Ruscher, granddaughter: Elizabeth Colleen Pankievicz, and great grandson: Rylan Micklonis. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Church of the Holy Spirit Plattsmouth with Father Loras K. Grell and Father Donald Shane officiating, Amanda, Laci, and Kiley Sheard as lectors, Ron Reineke and Jim Ulrich as acolytes, and Terry Little as vocalist. Visitations will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 5, 2015 with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Roby Funeral Home. The Pallbearers will be Clyde Sheard Jr., Andy Sheard, Mike Sheard, Kevin Sheard, Don Pankievicz Sr., Kenny Vokes, Shad Hawbaker, and Virgil (Loyal Pet). The Honorary Pallbearers will be Betty's thirty eight grandchildren and her forty six great grandchildren. Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE. Memorials to the Family (A suitable charity will be chosen at a later date).
