Eloise Janett Henslee

ELOISE JANETT HENSLEE 1922 – 2013 Eloise Janett (Peacock) Henslee Age 91.9 of Beaver Lake, NE entered into glory on Thursday, December 5, 2013 following complications from surgery. She was born on January 24, 1922 to Heber Fletcher Sr. and Mazie Zelma (Strader) Peacock in Earlimart, CA. Eloise earned a secretarial degree at the San Francisco Junior College. She married Captain Lem Paul Henslee U.S. Army Air Corp in Berkeley, CA on November 18, 1945. Eloise and her husband lived in Germany, Virginia, Illinois, Texas, Japan, Hawaii, and settled in Bellevue, NE in 1967, building a home at Beaver Lake in 1974. They traveled extensively throughout Europe and the U.S. over the years. Eloise loved her family, her friends, and her church. She loved to entertain and was a wonderful hostess and homemaker. Throughout her life, she was an avid bridge player and a member of several bridge and social clubs. She enjoyed reading, cooking, visiting with friends, and spamming the world. She remained active in her later years, and was learning to play the organ in her last year of life. She was much loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She told people not to grieve for her as she had lived a wonderful life. Eloise is survived by her daughter: Dianne Johnson of Culver, IN, two sons: David Henslee of Omaha, NE, Dan Henslee and wife Linda of Lincoln, NE, four grandchildren: Tiffany Johnson and husband Michael Kuhr of Thornton, CO, Andrew Johnson of Linton, IN, Russell Johnson of Boston, MA, and Jon Jacobs of Fort Collins, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Heber Sr. and Mazie Peacock, husband: Colonel Lem Paul Henslee USAF retired, son: Douglas Edward Henslee, grandson: Randall Johnson, brother: Heber Peacock Jr., and sister: Eileen Dunscomb. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Murray Christian Church in Murray, NE with Pastor Larry Hammons officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, Nebraska. Eloise loved children and supported the Murray Christian Church. Therefore, the family and the church have set up the Henslee Youth Fund in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials to be sent as contributions to the Henslee Youth Fund in care of Murray Christian Church, P.O. Box 194, Murray, NE 68409. This fund will be used for furthering the Christian education and activities of the church youth.
