Ethel Lela Tschirren

ETHEL LELA TSCHIRREN 1921 - 2015 Ethel Lela (Deen) Tschirren age 94 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Hillcrest Health Plaza in Bellevue, NE. She was born on May 12, 1921, to Joseph Coleman and Nellie Alice (Tolbert) Deen in Worth, MO. Ethel was raised and schooled in Worth. She worked in her home and took care of her family, as her mother died at a young age. Ethel moved to Plattsmouth, NE in 1948. She was divorced from O. Major. Ethel met Robert "Bob" Theodore Tschirren and they later married on July 16, 1954 in Vermillion, SD. Ethel and Bob made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth. In 1959, they moved to their farm west of Plattsmouth. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, fabulous cook, and a wonderful homemaker. Ethel was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Paul's United Church of Christ Ladies Guild, Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star Home Chapter #189, Navy Mothers, and she was a Lady of the Realm with the Kass Kounty Korn Klub all of Plattsmouth. She is survived by her seven daughters: JoAnn Peterson of Plattsmouth, NE; Violet "Toni" Johnson and husband John of Bellevue, NE; Mary Prohaska of Branson, MO; Carol Meyer of Omaha, NE; Sharon Taylor and husband Stan of San Diego, CA; Barbara Davenport and husband Tom of Plattsmouth, NE; Karen Reed and husband Zane of Plattsmouth, NE; four sons: Alfred Major and wife Susan of Plattsmouth, NE; John Tschirren and wife Karen of Plattsmouth, NE; Dennis Tschirren and wife Shirley of Omaha, NE; James Tschirren and wife Shelia of Plattsmouth, NE; thirty three grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; two daughters in law: Cathy Major of Plattsmouth, NE; Stacey Tschirren of Plattsmouth, NE; one sister: Zelma Rush of Torrington, WY; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Nellie Deen, five brothers: Albert, Wilburn, Francis, Loren, and Dale Deen, three sisters: Gladys LaMunyon, Della Auten, and Myrtle Freeman, her husband: Bob Tschirren, grandson: Clay Burns, and two sons: Ralph Major and Gene "Snorkal" Tschirren. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Friday, October 30, 2015, at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 31, 2015, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Plattsmouth with Pastor Donna Boren officiating and Florene Nickles as organist. The Pallbearers will be Alfred Major, John Tschirren, Dennis Tschirren, James Tschirren, John Johnson, Tom Davenport, Zane Reed, and Armond Kissel. The Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Ethel's grandchildren. Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
