GLORIA HOPEADONNA KIMSEY 1942 – 2020 Gloria Hopeadonna Kimsey, age 78 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Prestige Care Center of Plattsmouth. She was born on June 10, 1942 to Clarence “Oak” Oakley and Naomi “Bill” Imogene (Hammers) Kimsey in Bartlett, IA. She was raised and schooled in Bartlett. Gloria lived in Iowa, Wyoming, Washington, Idaho, and Nebraska. She worked as a meat cutter in the quality control department at American Beef in Nebraska City, NE and later at the Iowa Beef Plant in Dakota City, NE. Gloria also worked for a short time at Stoysich House of Sausage in Omaha, NE. She enjoyed gardening, raising animals, crafting, and Gloria loved to play pool and she competed in many pool tournaments. Gloria is survived by her son: David Anthony “Tony” Pierce and wife Kathy of Glenwood, IA; daughter: Donna Jean Barton and husband Chris of Plattsmouth, NE; three grandchildren: Dylan Porter of Bellevue, NE; Michael Adams of Omaha, NE; Michelle Ford and husband Kevin of Plattsmouth, NE; four great grandchildren: Harper Adams, Kaiden Ford, Ryder Ford, and Easton Ford; her brother: Anson “Pud” Hoyt Kimsey of Gales, OR; her best friend: Joseph H. Thomas of Pocatello, ID, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Oak and Naomi Kimsey, her infant Daughter: Mary Elizabeth Hawkes, her three sisters: Freda Good, Velma Jean Kimsey, and Beverly Fleming, and four brothers: Ronald Leroy “Whitey” Kimsey, Robert “Bob” Jonathan Kimsey, Glen “Doc” Drexel Kimsey, and Eugene Kimsey. A Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. The Pallbearers will be Donna Barton, Chris Barton, Tony Pierce, Damon McCollum, Dylan Porter, Randy Ray, and Michael Adams. Her Final Resting Place will be at Thurman Cemetery in Thurman, IA.
