JACKIE LUCILLE FRY 1954 – 2024 Jackie Lucille (Buffington) Fry, age 70 of Papillion, NE formerly of Murray and Weeping Water, NE passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024 in Papillion surrounded by her family. She was born on May 26, 1954, the second of four daughters, to George Andrew Buffington and Dorothy Arlene (Hiatt) Buffington in Nebraska City, NE. Jackie spent her childhood and adolescent years growing up on a farm around Murray, Otoe, and Weeping Water, NE. She helped on the farm putting up hay, walking bean fields, gardening, pickling, shelling peas, snapping green beans, planting row and rows of potatoes, and taking care of the chickens. For fun, Jackie enjoyed riding horses and bicycles. During Jackie’s senior year of high school, while attending a church team activity, she met the love of her life, Bob Fry. On May 6, 1977 she married Bob in a small ceremony in Bellevue, NE. Their marriage was blessed with three children Jonathan, Kyle, and Sonja. She loved Husker football since she was ten years old. As a child, she listened to the Huskers on the radio and watched them whenever the Huskers were on TV. She loved to bowl and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play soccer, basketball, and participating in school activities. Jackie is survived by her husband: Bob Fry of Papillion, NE; her children: Jonathan (Alexandra) Fry of Omaha, NE, Kyle (Miranda) Fry of Bellevue, NE, and Sonja (Keith) Fry of Papillion, NE; six grandchildren: Cameron, Alyssa, Blaze, Aleece, Bianca, and Benjamin; her two sisters: Jnay (Steve) Marlett of Granite City, IL and Sandra (Mark) Vernich of La Vergne, TN; along with lots of cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents: George and Dorothy Buffington, her sister: Shella Swarey, and her grandson: Landon Matthew Fry. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Lewiston Cemetery in rural Murray, NE. A Celebration of Life will be at Noon, on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Murray Christian Church in Murray. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
