Joan Clare Aylor

JOAN CLARE AYLOR 1941 – 2024 Joan Clare (Bergmann) Aylor, age 83 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Prestige Care Center of Plattsmouth. She was born on March 19, 1941, to John Bergmann and Clara Susan (Weber) Bergmann in Omaha, NE. Joan was raised in Plattsmouth and she attended Saint John the Baptist Catholic School and she graduated from Mercy High School in Omaha with the class of 1959. She met the love of her life, Kenneth “Ken” Eugene Aylor and they later married on September 1, 1962 in Plattsmouth. Joan and Ken made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth. Joan was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young, she then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha for a year, then attended a medical technician school for a year. After graduating from med tech school, Joan worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for Dr. Harris and later at Internal Medicine Associates both in Plattsmouth. Then she worked with her sister Mary Ann at A Women’s Touch Pregnancy Counseling Center in Bellevue, NE. Joan was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, P.C.C.W., Catholic Daughters of America, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is survived by her husband: Ken Aylor of Plattsmouth, NE, her son: Mark Aylor and his wife Michelle of Lincoln, NE, her daughter: Julie Aylor of Plattsmouth, NE, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by two infant brothers: Francis Bergmann and Edward Bergmann, her parents: John and Clara Bergmann, her brother: John Bergmann, her sister: Mary Ann Chladek, her niece: Suzanne Bergmann, and her grandson: Brandon Aylor. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Sean Timmerman officiating, Joe Warga and Dan Martin as lectors, Dan Rubin and Jeff Cherek as acolytes, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones organist. The Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and their spouses, Justin Becklun, Aaron St. Pierre, Luke Pietryga, Connor Aylor, Evan Aylor, and Andrew Petrzilka. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessica St. Pierre, Cassidy Pietryga, Mary Becklun, Devin Petrzilka, Aliece Aylor, and Brittany Dougherty. Her Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests Memorial donations to Nebraska Rite to Life or to the Church of the Holy Spirit for Masses or Memorials.
