John Joseph Haller

JOHN JOSEPH HALLER 1939 – 2020 John “Jack” Joseph Haller, age 81 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. He was born on March 4, 1939 to John William and Rosaline Lillian (Janousek) Haller in Omaha, NE. He was raised and schooled in Omaha and he graduated from Creighton Preparatory High School in Omaha with the class of 1955. After graduating from high school, Jack attended Creighton University in Omaha for two years, and then he attended business school. Jack worked for the Union Pacific Railroad until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Jack proudly served his country for four years. He met Marlene Ann Wentz while visiting his buddies on leave from the Air Force and they were later married on May 15, 1965 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Omaha. Jack and Marlene made their home in Omaha. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, then as a printer for Northern Natural Gas, and then as a printer at Commercial Federal Savings and Loan until he retired. In 1991, Jack and Marlene moved to Plattsmouth. Jack is survived by his wife: Marlene Haller of Plattsmouth, NE; his son: Michael Haller and wife Christina of Beaver Lake, NE; two daughters: Deborah Grier of Plattsmouth, NE; Michelle Haller of Omaha, NE; his granddaughter: Noelle Haller; his brother: Robert Haller of Omaha, NE; cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Rosaline Haller and his infant brother: Thomas Haller. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Private Family Rosary will be held on at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 16, 2020 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Private Family Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggest Memorials to the Church of the Holy Spirit or St. John the Baptist School.
