JOHN THOMAS MASTERS 1966 – 2023 John Thomas Masters age 57 entered heaven on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at his home in Plattsmouth, NE. He was born on May 14, 1966 to William “Bill” Francis Masters and Linda Barrie (Mull) Masters in Omaha, NE. John attended St. James Seton catholic school in Omaha, Middle School in Plattsmouth, and he graduated from Plattsmouth High School in the class of 1984. He also received a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Master’s in Computer Science from Bellevue University. John spent over two decades working in telecommunications. John coached little league football, baseball and basketball teams in Plattsmouth; and the Panthers Semi-professional football team in Cass County. He was a passionate fireworks salesman and produced shows throughout the Omaha metropolitan area. John loved Nebraska football and the Creighton Bluejays. John choreographed pyrotechnics for World Record holder Scotty ‘Scrub’ Miller. He is survived by his daughter: Nicole Masters of Omaha, NE; his mother: Linda Masters of Plattsmouth, NE; his sister: Anne Carpenter of Helena, MT; four brothers: Matthew Masters and wife Marie of Milton, FL; Daniel Masters and wife Vanessa of Sacramento, CA; Mark Masters and his son Jeremiah Grizzle of Plattsmouth, NE; Bartholomew “Bart” Masters of Plattsmouth, NE; his significant other: Jody McClure and her daughter Erin Olson of Pierre, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. John was a member of the Church of The Holy Spirit. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitations will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Sean Timmerman officiating and Terry Little as vocalist.
