Mary Jane Beins

MARY JANE BEINS October 21, 1931 – August 1, 2017 Mary Jane (Harris) Beins age 85 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Hillcrest Health Plaza in Bellevue, NE. She was born on October 21, 1931 to William Earl and Gladys Fae (Arnold) Harris in Plattsmouth. She was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1949. She met Fred Edward Beins and they were later married on August 6, 1949 in Glenwood, IA. Fred and Mary Jane made their home and raised their sons in Murray and Plattsmouth, moving to the farm in 1955. Mary Jane was a stay at home mom until she started working at Inland Manufacturing in Omaha, NE. She then became a secretary at ERA Platco Real Estate in Plattsmouth, until she earned her real estate license in 1976, and worked as a realtor in the Plattsmouth and Murray area for over 30 years, retiring on December 31, 2009. Mary Jane received many National Awards from ERA Estate Franchise through the 1980's ranking second and fifth out of twenty two thousand agents nationwide. When Mary Jane retired, Plattsmouth Mayor Paul Lambert issued the proclamation declaring January 5, 2010 as Mary Jane Beins Day for her service as a realtor to the community. Mary Jane especially loved spending time with her three great grandsons at the farm. She also enjoyed sales, reading, playing slot machines, playing cards, and traveling with her girlfriends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 Auxiliary both of Plattsmouth, and many community activities over her thirty three years as a realtor. Mary Jane is survived by two sons: Mike Beins of Plattsmouth, NE; Steve Beins and wife Joan of Lebanon, TN; three grandchildren: James Beins and wife Nicole of Omaha, NE; Chase Molloy of Lebanon, TN; Brooke Hobscheidt and husband Corey of Murray, NE; five great grandsons: Carson Hobscheidt, Crew Hobscheidt, Clay Hobscheidt, Augustus Beins, Theodore Beins; dear friend: Diane Berlett of Plattsmouth, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Gladys Harris, husband: Fred Beins, two sisters: Gertrude Brink, Beverly Blotzer, and daughter in law: Terry Beins. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with family greeting relatives and friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Lane Bailey officiating, Terry Little and Pam Osthus as vocalists, and Donna Glynn as organist.
