MARY JANE MAYAVSKI 1928 – 2019 Mary Jane (Lochmiller) Nelson-Mayavski, age 90, of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. She was born on December 26, 1928 to Herbert Minehart and Edith Mae (Smith) Lochmiller in Ainsworth, NE. Mary Jane was raised and schooled in Ainsworth and she graduated from Ainsworth High School with the class of 1946. Mary Jane met and later married LeRoy Arthur Nelson in 1947 in Ainsworth. Mary Jane and LeRoy moved to Omaha, NE in 1962 where they raised their four children. LeRoy later passed away in February of 1968. Mary Jane moved to Lincoln, NE where she met Donald “Don” Louie Mayavski and they later married in 1971 in Lincoln. In December of 1977, Mary Jane and Don moved to Buccaneer Bay in Plattsmouth and later to Bellevue in October of 1988. After Don passed away in November of 2011, Mary Jane returned to Plattsmouth to live at The Nebraska Masonic Home. Mary Jane had an entrepreneurial spirit, having owned and operated a number of businesses throughout her life. She was a real estate broker with her husband Don in Buccaneer Bay and in Plattsmouth. They also later owned and operated Kush Florist in South Omaha. She is loved deeply by her family and will be missed by all. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Aksarben Chapter #277 of Papillion, NE, American Legion Post #331 Auxiliary of South Omaha, and Fraternal Order of Eagles #3912 Auxiliary in Bellevue. Mary Jane is survived by two sons: Bill Nelson and wife Yvonne of Lincoln, NE; Roger Nelson and wife Betty of Omaha, NE; daughter: Janice Nelson of Bellevue, NE; seven grandchildren: Lisa Johnson and husband Dane; Angela Edgren and husband Dan; Jennifer Nelson; Christopher Nelson; Sarah Nelson; Silra Duperval and husband Alex; and Andrew Zamani; fourteen great grandchildren: Devyn, Kyle, Karah, Korene, Caulin, and Laityn Johnson; Zachery and Nicole Edgren; Alex Brown; Jackson Buser; Lilyana Nelson; and Xavier, Gabriel, and Jordyn Duperval; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Edith Lochmiller, three brothers: Rodney, Donald, and Robert Lochmiller; husbands: LeRoy Nelson and Donald Mayavski, and her daughter: Jane Osborn. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at The Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Chris Abbott officiating. The Pallbearers will be Mary Jane’s Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Final Resting Place will be at Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue.
