NOLA BETTY MRASEK 1921 - 2015 Nola Betty (Vallery) Mrasek age 93 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at The Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth. Betty was born on April 21, 1921 to Charles Jacob and Lottie Mae (Willis) Vallery in Springfield, NE. She was raised and schooled in the Murray and Plattsmouth, NE area. She graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1939. She met Donald Eugene Mrasek and they were later married on July 5, 1941 in Schuyler, NE. Betty and Donald made their home and raised their son in Plattsmouth. Betty had worked at the Wescott Clothing Store, The Nebraska Masonic Home, and she was a practical nurse that cared for people in her home. Betty was a wife, mother, grandmother, and a homemaker. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Home Chapter #189 and First Christian Church both of Plattsmouth. Betty is survived by her son: Roger Mrasek and wife Roxanne of Plattsmouth, NE, four granddaughters: Jody Babcock and husband Gary of Des Moines, IA, Jill Rollins and husband Fred of Plattsmouth, NE, Jenny Zillner of Prairie Village, KS, Ardena Mrasek of Plattsmouth, NE, five great grandsons: Cody Combs, Josh Zillner, Nicholas Zillner, Trevor Babcock, William Babcock, numerous cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Lottie Vallery and husband: Donald Mrasek. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at First Christian Church in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating, Susan Corbin as vocalist, and Mary Ann Stevens as pianist. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. The Pallbearers will be Gary Babcock, Fred Rollins, Cody Combs, Josh Zillner, Nicholas Zillner, Trevor Babcock, and Will Babcock. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Jody Babcock, Jill Rollins, Jenny Zillner, Ardena Mrasek, Jimmie Bryant, Tony Foster, David Freel, and In Loving Memory of John "Sparky" Ostrander. Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE. The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church or The Nebraska Masonic Home.
