RONALD EUGENE BALLINGER 1948 – 2025 Ronald “Ron” Eugene Ballinger age 76 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, July 18, 2025 at his residence. Ron was born on November 15, 1948 to Harold "Bud" Faye Ballinger and Sylvia Marie (Moore) Ballinger in Plattsmouth, NE. He was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth. Ron attended Horning School and Plattsmouth High School. After high school, Ron worked as a farmer and he also built houses with Dick Manley. Before retiring, Ron spent 33 years working for the State of Nebraska Department of Roads where he took great pride in snow plowing State Highways. Ron met the love of his life Cynthia "Cindy" Sue Zimmerman and they were later united in marriage on January 19, 1980 in Plattsmouth. Ron and Cindy made their home and raised their 3 children in Plattsmouth. Ron is survived by his three daughters: Jessica Fabsits and husband Bob of Council Bluffs, IA; Jamie Warga of Plattsmouth, NE; Jennifer Ballinger of Plattsmouth, NE; five grandchildren: Sean Ballinger and fiancé Emily, Trey Ballinger, Hank Ballinger, Grant Warga, and Kathryn Warga; his two brothers: Larry Ballinger of Waverly, NE and Roger Ballinger and wife Patti of Edwards, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold “Bud” and Sylvia Ballinger, his wife Cynthia “Cindy” Ballinger, and his two sisters: Cheryl Peregoy and Pam Petereit. Visitations will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Service with be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, August 1, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth with Pastor Tom Barnhart officiating. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Bob Kennedy, Bob King, Sean Ballinger, Trey Ballinger, Hank Ballinger, Grant Warga and Kathryn Warga. His Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Memorial donations can be made to the Family (a suitable charity will be chosen at a later date).
