Ronald "Ron" Keith Marsh

Ronald Keith Marsh August 27, 1948 – August 11, 2017 So, as some of you may have heard, I have had a bad week. Be careful of the sidewalk behind Cassco Arms, the cement is not very forgiving. For those that think they can carry all their groceries in one trip, my final piece of advice – it's not worth it. For those at Cassco Arms who shared in my experience . . . my bad. For those that didn't have the opportunity to meet me, I was born to Joseph and Viola Marsh on August 27, 1948, in Falls City, NE. We moved to Plattsmouth in 1953. I left my mark on the elementary and middle school but excelled at Plattsmouth High where my favorite subject was football. After high school I made an appearance at Wayne State Teacher's College until WE decided college wasn't my strong suit. At that point I decided to let the U.S. Army pay for my 1 year, 11 month, and 26 day vacation in Germany and sunny California. When the U.S. Army got tired of paying my travel expenses, they sent me back to Plattsmouth to become the most beloved used car salesman the world has ever seen . . . don't judge! After I ran out of friends needing cars I decided to try my hand in the concrete business at Wilson Concrete in Red Oak, IA. It wasn't a solid career move. At this point I had built up my friend pool enough to jump into sales again, this time with Gate City Steel. Come to find out, my friends weren't in the market for steel so I decided to let Uncle Sam pay my rent and food expenses again by taking a job in the finance office at Fort Douglas Army Base in Salt Lake City, UT. It was my new go to place for a pay check. After tiring of the Army brats, I moved back to Plattsmouth, NE to give the Air Force a shot. My love of food made me an excellent department manager in the Stripes Club at Offutt Air Force Base. After my short stint in the food service industry, I retired so I could experience everything Plattsmouth had to offer. That didn't take long. If you are still reading this, the funeral director strongly recommended that we add the following: Ron was preceded in death by an infant son Bryan Michael Marsh, and his parents Joseph and Viola Marsh. He is survived by son Charlie Marsh of Plattsmouth, NE; daughter and son-in-law Dawn (Marsh) and John Zdru of Oxford, CT; grandchildren Zachary and Jadyn Zdru, and Addison Marsh; sister and brother-in-law Sheila (Marsh) and Jay Speck; niece Benne Jo Speck and her sons Nash and Casey of Plattsmouth, NE plus a host of relatives and friends.
