SYLVIA MARIE BALLINGER 1923 – 2021 Sylvia Marie (Moore) Ballinger, age 98 of Sedalia, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2021 at her residence by the side of her son Roger and granddaughter Kimberly. She was born on May 12, 1923 to Ira Clarence and Nellie Mae (Boetel) Moore in Marysville, MO. On September 22, 1944, Sylvia was united in marriage to Harold “Bud” Ballinger and together they had five children. She was ornery, full of life and loved to play games, especially cards and dice. But most of all, Sylvia was a God-fearing woman with tremendous faith and shared of His promises and unconditional love through her poetry. God spoke to her and she used her voice to speak to the masses. Sylvia dedicated her life to taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends who also became family. She had a servant’s heart and loved fully. She said, “Today is the day of salvation” (Sylvia Ballinger, 2007); truly today is the day she dances with her Father and family who have departed before her, in Heaven. Sylvia is survived by three of her five children; sons: Larry Ballinger and wife Mary of Pender, NE, Ronald Ballinger of Plattsmouth, NE, and Roger Ballinger and wife Patti of Edwards, MO; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Sylvia is preceded in death by her father and mother, her sisters: Alma Mae (Moore) Nuzum (Louis), Hazel Alice (Moore) Adkins (Hank), Lucille Ella (Moore) Hickman (Harold), brother: Harold Edward Moore, her daughters: Pamela Marie Ballinger and Cheryl Lynn (Ballinger) Peregoy, two grandchildren: Michelle Ballinger and Jeremy Covert, and her daughter in law: Cynthia “Cindy” Sue (Zimmerman) Ballinger. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Roby Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. The Pallbearers will be Tony Martin, Daniel Martin, James Martin, Randall Martin, Brian Covert, and Eric Ballinger. Her Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
