THOMAS ANDREW MILLER 1956 – 2023 Thomas “Tom” Andrew Miller age 67 of Plattsmouth, NE unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. Tom was born on February 7, 1956 to Arthur Frank Allen Miller and Madge Alma (Pleanitz) Miller in Huntington, IN. He was raised and schooled in Huntington and Tom graduated from Huntington North High School with the Class of 1974. After high school, he was a photographer for the Indiana National Guard and he worked at the Breyers Ice Cream Plant in Huntington. In 1976 Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force and he proudly served his country for twenty years. Tom met the love of his life, Barbara “Barb” Jean Hamilton and they were later united in marriage on October 15, 1977 in Huntington and to this union three children were born. Tom and Barb made their home and raised their children on Air Force Bases in Michigan, Okinawa, California, and at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue until 1986 when they moved to Plattsmouth. After Tom retired from the Air Force in 1996, he worked at Home Depot until he retired 2022. He is survived by his wife of forty five years: Barbara Miller of Plattsmouth, NE; his son: Anthony Miller of Omaha, NE; two daughters: Christie Owens of Plattsmouth, NE; Erin Miller of Plattsmouth, NE; three grandchildren: Aubrey Swaink, Brayden Owens, and Ethan Owens; his brother: John Miller of Warsaw, IN; three sisters: Sue Mendenhall of Huntington, IN; Peggy Scher of Fort Wayne, IN; and Sally Kimmel and her husband Kevin of Emerald Isle, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Madge Miller and twin brother: Richard, who died at birth. Visitations will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Sean Timmerman and Father Steve Mills co-officiating, Mike Keif as acolyte, Sharon Keif as lector, and Terry Little as vocalist. *Tom disliked wearing a suit, so please at the family’s request wear casual attire of blue jeans and a button down shirt.* The Pallbearers will be Nick Christman, Austin Hamilton, Dave Hamilton, Rick Hamilton, Lanny Mendenhall, and Anthony Miller. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Brayden Owens and Ethan Owens. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Military Rites will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard, Military Funeral Honors Team of Bellevue. The family suggests Memorials for Masses in Tom’s name or to St. John Baptist School.
