VERA ELIZABETH MORGAN 1928 – 2023 Vera Elizabeth (Erickson) Morgan age 94 of Omaha, NE peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at her son’s residence. She was born on September 28, 1928 to Gustaf Andres Erickson and Katie Wilhelmina (Lorenzen) Erickson in Early, IA. Vera was raised in Early and graduated from Odebolt High School. After graduating from high school, she attended business school. Vera met the love of her life, Howard Uriah Morgan and they were later married on October 21, 1945 in LeMars, IA. Vera and Howard made their first home in Sioux City, IA until 1951 when they moved to Omaha. They raised five children. Vera and Howard moved to Hansen Lake in 1977. They were married for 43 years. Vera worked in retail for 32 years at Brandeis/Younkers. After retiring she enjoyed tailoring at the Ralston Costume Shop. She loved playing cards and was a member of several Bridge and Pinochle groups through the years. Vera was a member of First Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Ladies Guild, Lutheran Adult Social Group, the University of Valparaiso Guild, and the Lake Shore Ladies of Hansen Lake. Vera is survived by her brother: Thomas Erickson and his wife Hazel of Minning, SC; two sons David Morgan of Ely, IA; Scott Morgan of Omaha, NE; two daughters: Peggy Galbreath of Omaha, NE; Linda Warthen and her husband Timothy of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law: Glenda Morgan of Rawlings, WY; seven grandchildren: Morgan Carr, Timothy Morgan, Christopher Morgan and his wife Lora Bergert, Andrew Morgan and his wife Brenda, Craig Morgan and his wife Audri, Megan Becker and her husband Jason, and Lauren Warthen and her husband Phillip Krzycki; seven great grandchildren: Jennifer Morgan, Emily Maneggio and her husband Andrew, Glen Morgan, Payton Morgan, Gracie Morgan, Colin Becker, and Corinne Becker; one great great granddaughter: Stephanie “Stevie” Maneggio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Gustaf and Katie Erickson, her husband: Howard Morgan, her son: Steven Morgan, and her grandson: Patrick Morgan. Visitations will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., on Friday, March 10, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Ryan Maser officiating and Marsha Fleming as organist. The Pallbearers will be Jason Becker, Phillip Krzycki, Morgan Carr, Colin Becker, Timothy Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Andrew Morgan, and Craig Morgan. Her Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Memorials to the Family (a suitable charity will be choses at a later date).
