VICTOR GORDON CHUDY 1953 – 2024 Victor Gordon Chudy, age 71 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. He was born on February 21, 1953, to John and Anna Rosina (Limmer) Chudy in Nebraska City, NE. Victor was lifelong resident of Plattsmouth, attending Saint John the Baptist Catholic School and he graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1971. He attended Peru State College for one year prior to joining Millwright Local 1463. He was a proud union member before retiring after 35 years. He met the love of his life Roxanne Pfeifer in the spring of 1982. Growly. That word has described Victor often. The best words to describe him are loving, giving, carefree and adventurous. Victor was a one-of-a-kind man with a larger-than-life personality. He was dedicated and loyal to his friends and family, especially his “blushing bride” Roxanne. After 42 years, it was evident they were made for each other. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, regardless of his complaints to do so. And as much as some people refused to ride in a car with him, he was an impeccable driver. The man could maneuver a vehicle better than anyone! Victor was very proud of his German heritage, traveling there yearly to spend time with his Bavarian family. He has kept the bond going between the American and German family for years. He and Roxanne were always on some type of adventure over there, whether it was a 5-minute walk (aka 10-mile hike) or just finding a biergarten to enjoy. In addition to travel, Victor enjoyed playing cards, dice or dominoes. You always knew if you were a threat to him if he did his curse on you since he was always out to win. Victor raced sprint cars in the 1970’s. He and Roxanne went to the Sprint Car Nationals every year, catching up with old friends from all over. There were so many sides to Victor, too many to mention. But to say he will be missed is an understatement. We lost a good one. Victor is survived by his life partner: Roxanne Pfeifer; his brothers: John Chudy of Omaha and Mark (Michelle) Chudy of San Antonio; nieces and nephews: Jill (Mike) Matlock, Joel Chudy, Elisabeth (Daniel Messer) Chudy, Ingrid (Chris) Last, Haidyn Chudy, Caris Chudy, Kim (JJ) Tilson, Shannon (Jerrod) Nielson, Kelsey Haswell, and Kirkland Haswell; sister-in-law: Deb Raymond; brother-in-law: Joe (Missy) Haswell; numerous great nieces, great nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Anna Chudy, brother: Chris Chudy, and sister-in-law: Janet Chudy. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Mark Pfiefer officiating, Tracy Schutte as lector, Dan Rubin as acolyte, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones organist. The Pallbearers will be John Chudy, Mark Chudy, Joel Chudy, Mike Matlock John Piniarski, and Daniel Messer. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Haswell, John Speck, Roger Schmidt, Roger Hostetter, Steve Wilson, Bart Whipple, Markus Rank, and Paul Muhlbauer. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial donations be made to Disabled Veterans, or to Roxanne for a memorial bench.
