WILLIAM FRANCIS MASTERS 1942 – 2021 William “Bill” Francis Masters age 79 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his residence. Bill was born on August 8, 1942 to John Thomas and Bertha Pauline (Stricker) Masters in Omaha, NE. He was raised and schooled in Omaha and he graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1961. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and he proudly served his country for eight years. Bill was stationed at Misawa Air Force Base in Japan, Okinawa Air Force Base in Japan, Lincoln Air Force Base in Lincoln, NE, and at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE. He met the love of his life Linda Barrie Mull at a birthday party, when Linda was eight and Bill was ten years old. Bill and Linda dated in high school and they later married on November 5, 1965 at Saint Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha. Bill and Linda made their home in Omaha until 1979 when they moved to Plattsmouth. After serving his country, Bill went to work with his older brother Tom at the Masters Sheet Metal Company following in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years: Linda Masters of Plattsmouth, NE; five sons: John Masters of Plattsmouth, NE; Matthew Masters and wife Marie of Milton, FL; Daniel Masters and wife Vanessa of Sacramento, CA; Mark Masters of Plattsmouth, NE; Bartholomew Masters of Plattsmouth, NE; his daughter: Anne Carpenter of Helena, MT; ten grandchildren: Nicole Masters, Zachary Carpenter, Sydney Carpenter, Brodie Carpenter (Broderick Scott), Marcella Plog, Chelsea Plog, Makayla Masters, Milah Masters, Avery Masters, and Jeremiah Grizzle; two brothers: Thomas “Tom” Masters and wife Carol of North Bend, NE; Hubert Masters of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Katherine Straight and husband Harvey of San Benito, TX; Margaret Williamsen and husband LeRoy of Elkhorn, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Bertha Masters, two brothers: Robert Masters and John Masters, and two sisters: Pauline Bradt and Many Ann Masters. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Michael Houlihan officiating, Jeff Scanlan as acolyte, Terry Little as the vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones as organist. His Final Resting Place will be at Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha. The Family suggests Memorials to St. John the Baptist School in Plattsmouth.
