WILLIAM ARTHUR TOMAN 1938 – 2025 William “Bill” Arthur Toman, age 86 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion, NE. Bill was born on September 2, 1938, to John Stuart Toman and Ruth Frances (Rotter) Toman in rural Plattsmouth, NE. He was raised in rural Plattsmouth and he attended Rock Bluff Grade School and graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1956. After graduating from high school, he embraced his machinest and engineering skills working on and riding Triumph cycles with his brother John and helping his family on the Toman Farm. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where through friends, he met the love of his life, Filomena "Mena" Rondinelli. One year later, they were married on February 23, 1963, at St. Ladislas Church in Columbus, OH. He proudly served his country and Bill and Mena returned to Plattsmouth where Bill later worked for Airlite Plastics in Omaha, NE. He began farming the Toman Family Farm and opened Bill’s Machine Specialties (BMS) where he used his machinery skills to build motorcycle racers for enduros, hill climbs, and short track races. He loved using his mechanical skills to restore and use antique tractors and farm machinery. Bill and Mena made their home and raised their daughters in Plattsmouth. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, life-long member of the American Motorcycle Association, Plumb Crazy Motorcycle Club, founding member of the Cavalier Motorcycle Club and involved annually with Mid State Tractors Association. He is survived by his four daughters: Regina “Gina” Toman of Nebraska City, NE, Rebecca “Becky” Dulek and her husband Mark of Omaha, NE, Recinda "Cindy" Toman-Valeri and her husband Adriano of Plattsmouth, NE and Canada, and Rechelle “Shelly” Pelzer and her husband Mark of La Vista, NE; two brothers: Charles Toman and his wife Janet of Naperville, IL and Edward Toman of Ashland, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his parents: John and Ruth Toman, his brother: John Robert Toman, his nephew: Martin L. “Marty” Gilbronson, his two sisters: Margaret Hilgerson and her husband John and Jeanne Gilbronson and her husband Chester. (And followed in death by his wife of 61 years and 11 months, Filomena Toman.) Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Sean Timmerman officiating, Nadine Carlson as lector, Nick Halmes and Jeff Cheric as acolytes, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones organist. The Pallbearers will be John Toman, Jerry Toman, Jim Howe, Greg Hula, Gary Waddell, and Harold Waddell. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Corey Solotorovsky, James Toman, Jeff Toman, Paul Hula, Andrew Wassinger, Jamel Jones, and Gene Sand. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Military Rites will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard, Military Funeral Honors Team of Bellevue, NE.
