DAVID FREDERICK LOPER III 1951 – 2022 David “Dave” Frederick Loper III age 70 of Omaha, NE formerly of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE. Dave was born on June 4, 1951 to David Frederick Loper II and Ruth Kathleen (Holman) Loper in Omaha, NE. He was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth and he graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1969. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1973. While serving in the Navy, David was stationed in Hawaii and he worked as an avionics technician. After serving his country, David worked construction and he had lived in Oregon, Plattsmouth, and Omaha. He is survived by his brother: Terry Loper and his wife Debbie of Jefferson City, MO; two sisters: Ruby Kreklau and her husband LaVerne of Surfside Beach, SC; Ruth Abbate and her husband Benedict of Kansas City, MO; his beloved cat: Sapphire; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother: Howard and Ruth Royer, his brother: Lester Loper, and his niece: Gina Marie Kreklau, nephew: Jeremy Leming, and his grandparents: Valeria and Lester Holman. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. Military Rites will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard.
