DUANE CHARLES HAMLIN 1941 – 2013 Duane Charles Hamlin Age 72 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. He was born on April 21, 1941 to Harry and Naomi Irene (Kalvig) Hamlin in Mason City, IA. Duane was raised and school in Sherrill and Dubuque, IA. He graduated from Dubuque High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. In 1979, Duane retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service as a Russian Linguist. Then he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Omaha and Papillion, NE for 22 years. He was also a licensed locksmith. Duane has made his residence in Plattsmouth, NE since 1980. He was a member of Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 of Plattsmouth. Duane is survived by his Daughter: Kim Hamlin and fiancé Matt Michl of Plattsmouth, NE, Son: Christopher Hamlin of Plattsmouth, NE, Granddaughter: Nicole Masters, Sister: Linda Worley of Tullahoma, TN, and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Harry & Naomi Hamlin. Services will be Private. Memorials can be directed to the Family.
