ERMAL EUGENE HOWREY 1925 - 2015 Ermal "Gene" Eugene Howrey age 90 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his residence. Gene was born on January 21, 1925 to Floyd and Flora (Hadden) Howrey in Coin, IA. He was drafted into the U.S. Air Force and served his country during WWII. He met Joyce Elaine Leptien and they were later married on August 29, 1953. Gene and Joyce made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth. Gene was a husband, dad, grandpa, and worked as an auto body repairman. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 and Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 both of Plattsmouth. Gene is survived by his wife: Joyce Howrey of Plattsmouth, NE, son: Gregg Howrey of Omaha, NE, four daughters: Pam Smith of La Vista, NE, Dee Becker and husband Gregg of Bellevue, NE, Kathy Brand and husband Steve of Alabaster, AL, Joni Ryan and husband Mike of Beaver Lake, NE, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Flora Howrey, three grandchildren: Jessica Becker, Jordan Simpson, and Kaiden Smith, son in law: Rick Smith, a brother, and a sister. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 in Plattsmouth.
