EUGENE H. MILLER 1929 – 2020 Eugene “Gene” H. Miller, age 91 of Plattsmouth, NE formerly of Omaha, NE passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at The Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth. Gene was born on June 3, 1929 to Fred Charles and Marie Johanna (Fahrenkrog) Miller in Council Bluffs, IA. Gene was raised on his family’s farm seven miles from Council Bluffs and he graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class 1944. After high school, he worked for the Iowa Soil Conservation Service. Gene met Joyce Lenore Carpenter and they were later married on October 15, 1950 in Council Bluffs. Gene and Joyce made their home in Omaha. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for two years during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country Gene, a lifelong cattleman, joined the Omaha Livestock Exchange Board, and in his later years the owner of Lindley Commission Company. Gene and Joyce lived in Omaha until 2016 when they moved to Plattsmouth. He was a member of the Bee Hive Masonic Lodge #184 A.F. and A.M. in Omaha. Gene is survived by his wife: Joyce Miller of Plattsmouth, NE; two sons: Douglas Miller and wife Betsy of Phoenix, AZ; Matthew Miller and wife Denise of Prairie Village, KS; daughter: Genette Albertsen and husband Steve of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren: Nicole Mueller and husband Nathan of Lincoln, NE; Spenser Albertsen of Kansas City, MO; Blake Miller of Carlsbad, CA; two great grandchildren: Jensen and Astrid Mueller; three sisters-in-law: JoAnn Carpenter of Bellevue, NE; Corrine Carpenter of Tucson, AZ; Shirley Carpenter of Moundridge, KS; a niece, and many friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Ryan Douglas Miller, and his two brothers: Creighton Miller and Fred Miller. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held. His Final Resting Place will be at Omaha National Cemetery. Memorials to Donor’s Favorite Charity or Veterans Organizations.
