GRACE MAXINE WINCHESTER 1916 – 2016 Grace Maxine (Axtell) Winchester age 100 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Nebraska Medicine – Bellevue in Bellevue, NE. She was born on April 11, 1916 to John T. and Anna Isabelle (Coates) Axtell in Amherst, NE. Grace was raised and schooled in Amherst and she attended Amherst High School. She met Herbert Clinton Winchester and they were later married on June 4, 1932 in Grand Island, NE. Grace was a wife, mother, grandmother, and a homemaker. Grace is survived by her two daughters: Velma Schriver and husband Gene of Gothenburg, NE; Joann Dobry and husband Daryl of Plattsmouth, NE; two sons: Miles Winchester and wife Caroline of Chadron, NE; Bert Winchester of Hastings, NE; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Anna Axtell, husband: Herbert Winchester, son: Loren Winchester, and her nine siblings. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Anselmo, NE. The family suggests memorials to the Murray Fire and Rescue Department in Murray, NE.
