JODY ALLEN EMMERT 1971 – 2019 Jody Allen Emmert age 47 of Bellevue, NE passed away in a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in Bellevue. He was born on October 9, 1971 to Theodore Ray Eugene Jr. and Sandra Sue (Kellison) Emmert in Nebraska City, NE. Jody was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth, NE through his sophomore year of high school. Jody moved with his family to Longwood, FL, where graduated from Lyman High School with the class of 1990. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for four years. While in high school in Florida, he met Julie Ann Cook and they were later married on March 21, 1992 in Longwood, FL. While Jody was in the Navy, he and Julie lived in Orlando, FL and while he was stationed on the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln they lived in Alameda, CA. After serving his country, he and Julie returned to Florida. Jody and Julie made their home in Florida until 1999, when they moved Omaha, NE. In 2007, they moved back to Florida and then in October of 2014 they moved to Bellevue. Jody had worked as an irrigation installer. Jody is survived by his wife: Julie Emmert of Bellevue, NE; mother: Sandy Emmert of Sanford, FL; two brothers: Theodore “Ted” Emmert III of Geneva, FL; Brian Emmert of Bellevue, NE; sister: Wendy Smith of Taylorsville, NC; step-mother: Mary Emmert of Omaha, NE; mother-in-law: Barbara Cook of Papillion, NE; maternal aunt: Arlene Kellison and husband Walter of Rineyville, KY; maternal uncle: Richard Kellison and wife Pat of Greers Ferry, AR; paternal aunt: Sharon Muckey of Omaha, NE; paternal uncle: Bill Emmert and wife Crystal of Bellevue, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Theodore and Elsie Emmert Sr., maternal grandparents: Marvel and Asa Kellison, his father: Theodore Emmert Jr., two maternal aunts: Ailene Pohlmeier and Lois Shoaf, paternal aunt: Peggy White and her husband Bill, paternal uncle: Fred Monk, and three cousins: David Bushnell, Mike Shoaf, and Patrick White. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth NE with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard. His Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Family (A suitable charity will be chosen at a later date).
