LAVANE LOUISE HEIMANN 1939 - 2015 LaVane Louise (Vogltance) Heimann age 75 of Elkhorn, NE formerly of Howells, NE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with Neuroendocrine Cancer at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. LaVane was born on November 13, 1939 to Pete Frank and Vlasta Leona (Mestl) Vogltance in Dodge, NE. She was raised in Dodge, attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School, and graduated from Dodge High School with the class of 1957. After graduating from high school, LaVane moved to Omaha, NE where she attended business school and worked at Farmers Union Grain Exchange. She met the love of her life, Kenneth Francis Heimann and they were later united in marriage on November 4, 1958 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. LaVane and Kenny made their home and raised their children on their farm just east of Howells, NE for 46 years. Then in 2003 they retired and moved to Elkhorn, NE, where they enjoyed attending their children's and grandchildren's many activities. LaVane loved spending time with her family, cooking, playing cards, and traveling to Minnesota for the their annual family fishing vacation. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #3943 Auxiliary both of Elkhorn. She was a former member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers in Howells. LaVane is survived by her husband: Kenneth Heimann of Elkhorn, NE, two daughters: Kathy Higgins and husband Kirk of Bennington, NE, Deborah Jackson and husband Scott of LaVista, NE, four sons: Daniel Heimann and wife Belinda of Omaha, NE, Ronald Heimann and wife Julie of Adel, IA, David Heimann of Dodge, NE, Paul Heimann and wife Rhonda of Fremont, NE, nine grandchildren: Whitney Crist and husband Jace, Dexter Higgins and wife Sierra, Demi Higgins, Blake Heimann, KC Heimann, Ellie Morehouse, Brianna Heimann, Garret Jackson, Shelby Jackson, two great grandchildren: Maylin Crist, Carter Higgins, two sisters: Patricia Spellerberg of Bellevue, NE, Judy Roby and husband Keith of Beaver Lake, NE, brother: David Vogltance and wife June of Dodge, NE, brother-in-law: James Jerman of Omaha, NE, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Pete and Vlasta Vogltance, infant daughter: Jackie Heimann, and sister: Joyce Jerman. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhorn with Father Gary Ostrander officiating. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Pallbearers will be Whitney Crist, Dexter Higgins, Demi Higgins, Blake Heimann, KC Heimann, Ellie Morehouse, Brianna Heimann, Garret Jackson, and Shelby Jackson. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Maylin Crist and Carter Higgins. Final Resting Place will be at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Elkhorn. Memorials to the Family (A suitable charity will be chosen at a later date).
