MARY EVA NEWBURN-KRINGS 1915 - 2016 Mary "Eva" (Benedict) Newburn-Krings age 100 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at her residence. Eva was born on March 3, 1915 to John Arthur and Lenora A. (Wright) Benedict in Afton, IA. She was raised and schooled in Afton. Eva worked as a domestic for elderly people in their homes. She met James Warren Newburn and they were later married on November 15, 1931 in Atlantic, IA. Eva and James made their home in Afton until 1934, when they moved to Plattsmouth, NE. She was a homemaker, but Eva had also worked at Kent's Cafe in Plattsmouth, Jubliee Manufacturing in Omaha, NE, Noggles Manufacturing in Omaha, NE, The Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth, and Schreiner Drug in Plattsmouth. After her husband James passed away in 1976, she met Eugene Leonard Krings and they were later married on May 1, 1982 in Plattsmouth, NE. Eva and Eugene made their home Plattsmouth. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 Auxiliary both of Plattsmouth. Eva is survived by her son: Art Newburn of Plattsmouth, NE; two daughters-in-law: Barbara Newburn of Plattsmouth, NE, Nancy Newburn of Eureka Springs, AR; one step daughter: Barbara Bole of Omaha, NE; one step son-in-law: Greg Brown of Omaha, NE; fourteen grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; more than thirty great great grandchildren; two great great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Lenora Benedict, husbands: James Newburn and Eugene Krings, three sons: Dale Dean Newburn, Gary Lee Newburn, Ronald James Newburn, infant grandson: Kevin Eugene Newburn, granddaughter: Nora Kay Anderson, two infant great grandchildren: Cody Daniel Boatright and Donald Junior Newburn, brother: Robert Benedict, and two sisters: Evada Weatherby and Juanita Holmes. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 29, 2016, at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Donna Boren officiating and Terry Little as vocalist. The pallbearers will be Daniel Newburn, Donald Newburn, Randy Newburn, Orville Cruz, Daniel Derner, and Chuck Robideaux. Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
