ALFRED ANTHONY GAETA 1970 – 2024 Alfred “Al” Anthony Gaeta, age 53 of Plattsmouth, NE unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Al was born on March 20, 1970 to Robert “Bob” Joseph Gaeta and Dolores “Dee” Ann (Reinig) Gaeta in Omaha, NE. He graduated from Millard South High School in 1988. After graduation he attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney for a year. He then went on to obtain his pilot’s license in Colorado Springs, CO. After that he moved to New York City and received his training as an airline flight dispatcher. He worked for Air Wisconsin, a regional airline for United, in Appleton, WI for ten years. In 2005 he moved back to Omaha and he worked for Werner Enterprises as a dispatcher. Al met the love of his life Cheryl Lynn Wurth in Omaha and they later married on September 6,2014 at the Beaver Lake Clubhouse in Plattsmouth. They made their home at Beaver Lake. Al was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and he loved to spend time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife: Cheryl Gaeta of Plattsmouth, NE; his mother: Dee Gaeta of Plattsmouth, NE; his brother: Daniel “Dan” Gaeta of Omaha, NE; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Al is preceded in death by his father: Robert “Bob” Gaeta and his grandparents: Alfred and Josephine Gaeta and Anthony and Mildred Reinig. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M., on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Bedient officiating, John Cannella and Leo Hensley as lectors, Dan Rubin as acolyte, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones as organist. His Final Resting Place will be at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha. The Family suggests Memorials to St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Plattsmouth, Siena Francis House in Omaha, or Catholic Charities in Southern Nebraska.
