FLOYD HEARN RUSSELL 1946 – 2024 Floyd Hearn Russell age 77 of Bellevue, NE peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at his residence. Floyd was born on September 24, 1946 to Gordon Charles Russell and Mary Estell (Davis) Russell in Havre de Grace, MD. Floyd was raised and schooled in Tuskegee, AL and he graduated from Macon Academy with the class of 1964. After graduating from high school, Floyd enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and he proudly served his country for four and a half years during the Vietnam War from 1965 until 1970. He met the love of his life Judith “Judy” Mederois and they were later married on December 10, 1968 in Papillion, NE. After serving his country, Floyd had worked at ADT in Omaha, NE, for the Civil Service at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE, and at ASARCO in Omaha, NE as an industrial electrician. Then Floyd and Judy moved to Tallassee, AL where he continued to work as an industrial electrician for the Neptune Technology Group. In 2007, Floyd and Judy moved back to Bellevue. He is survived by his wife: Judy Russell of Bellevue, NE; two sons: Alan Russell and his wife Kenda of Omaha, NE and John Russell and his significant other Diana Meadors of Elkhorn, NE; five grandchildren: Bryan Russell and his wife Chrissi, Kaylin Russell, Jaxon Russell, LillyAnn Malechek, and Grant Malechek; his great granddaughter: Gracie Russell; his brother: Charles R. Russell and his wife Becky of Gastonia, NC; his sister: Cindy Suzette Parker of Tallassee, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents: Gordon C. and Mary Russell and his brother: Gordon H. Russell. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Roby Funeral Home with Pastor Michael McGregor officiating. The Pallbearers will be Alan Russell, Bryan Russell, Jaxon Russell, and John Russell. Military Rites will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard, Military Funeral Honors Team of Bellevue, NE and the American Legion Post #1 of Omaha, NE. His Final Resting Place will be at Omaha National Cemetery. Memorials to Boys Town.
