ILDA MARIA SANTOS 1935 – 2018 Ilda Maria Santos age 83 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at her residence. She was born on April 20, 1935 to Joao Carreiro and Luisa Maria (Santos) Santos in San Miguel, Portugal. Ilda was born, raised, and schooled in San Miguel, Portugal. She met Jose Oliveira Macedo and they were later married on August 26, 1952 in Portugal. Ilda was a homemaker, housewife, and mother. Jose was killed by a drunk driver in 1972 in Portugal, Ilda worked as a housekeeper after her husband's death and raised her family. In 1979, Ilda emigrated to Plattsmouth, where she worked at the Plattsmouth Manor Nursing Home in the laundry department until she retired. Ilda is survived by her four daughters: Lucia Briggs of Plattsmouth, NE; Fernanda Moratal and husband Vince of Odenton, MD; Phoebe Silva and husband Dennis of Georgetown, Canada; Louise Jones and husband Steve Yarger of Plattsmouth, NE; three sons: Roger Macedo and wife Dee of Little Elm, TX; Roberto Macedo of Plattsmouth, NE; Joe Macedo and wife Veronica of Bellevue, NE; seventeen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three sisters: Flo Carver of Plattsmouth, NE; Gabby Martins of Plattsmouth, NE; Oliveira DeJesus of Portugal; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joao and Luisa Santos, husband: Jose Macedo, sister: Margarida Perreira, grandson: Roger Briggs, son-in-law: Lester Briggs, and two brothers-in-law: Juaquin DeJesus and Valdemar Martins. Private Family Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Roby Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Wicks officiating. The Pallbearers will be Roger Macedo, Roberto Macedo, Joe Macedo, Danny Briggs, Larry Briggs, Dennis Silva, Matthew Silva, and Paulo Martins. The Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris Yarger. Her final resting place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Memorials to the Family (A suitable charity will be chosen at a later date).
