John "Dave" Criswell

JOHN RAYMOND DAVID CRISWELL 1954 – 2023 John “Dave” Raymond David Criswell, age 69 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Dave was born on January 16, 1954 to Vernon W. Criswell and Clara M. (Odegard) Criswell in Grand Rapids, MN. He graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, MN with the class of 1972. Dave received his Associate Degree in Electrical Maintenance at Hibbing Vocational/Technical Institute in Hibbing, MN in 1974. He went on to attend State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for blueprint reading and electrical code study/maintenance. Dave was a Journeyman Electrician for Triangle Electric assigned to the Williston Basin Oil Field from 1980-1984. Dave married Vicki Christensen on September 22, 1984 in Sidney, MT. Dave and Vicki then started traveling across the country where Dave worked as a Master/Journeyman and Supervisor Electrician on various industrial sites including power plants, gas plants, gold, silver, platinum/palladium and copper mines, water treatment and waste water facilities, government installations, the Hoover Dam and other dams, oil and ethanol refineries, a baseball stadium and pulp & paper mills from 1985 – 2004. During this time, he was employed by TIC. They then found themselves in Nebraska where they settled down and lived in Plattsmouth, NE. Dave became a member of the IBEW #22. He worked for numerous electrical employers such as Sadler Electric, Parsons/Thompson Electric, DC Electric and finally from 2016 until his death with Miller Electric. Dave leaves behind his spouse, Vicki. Dave was preceded in death by his parents: Vernon W. Criswell and Clara M. Criswell. Good friends: Gary Walch, Tommy Joe Killey and Doug Hansen. Dave had a strong demeanor and was quick to the point. He loved NHRA races, going to concerts and traveling. He enjoyed working on vintage cars and attending car shows. Dave and Vicki loved being the Activities Coordinators for the Montana Phares Family reunions. Dave was known for his dedication to the electrical field and living his life to the fullest. Visitations will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M with the greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Roby Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating.
