KATHERINE ROSE LOCKE 1941 - 2016 Katherine Rose (Fender) Locke age 75 of Omaha, NE formerly of Plattsmouth, NE passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She was born on March 1, 1941 to Nathan Valentine and Jessie Estelle (Bates) Fender in Omaha, NE. She was raised and schooled in Elliott, IA and she had worked on her family's farm. She met Donald W. Owen Sr. and they were later married in Council Bluffs, IA, where they made their home and raised their children. She worked as a cashier at Super Value and Hinky Dinky grocery stores in Council Bluffs. Katherine and Donald were divorced after sixteen years of marriage. She met Richard Root and they were later married. Katherine and Richard made their home in Omaha, but they were later divorced. Katherine later worked as a cashier at the Commissary at Offutt A.F.B. in Bellevue, NE and she retired from Frito-Lay in Omaha. She met John Edmund Locke and they were later married in Plattsmouth, NE, where they made their home. Due to her failing health, she moved to Council Bluffs, IA to live with her daughter Tammy and later to the Life Care Center in Omaha. Katherine was a member of Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 Auxiliary of Plattsmouth. She is survived by her daughter: Tammy Patterson of Blair, NE; daughter-in-law: Ilona Owen of Council Bluffs, IA; seven grandchildren: Bryan Reynolds, Randall Reynolds, Mitchell Schard, Alex Schard, Brandon Wyman, Devin Schard, Hailey Watson; nine great grandchildren: Ryan Reynolds, Jackson Reynolds, Kaitlyn Reynolds, Piper Klein, Wyatt Klein, Liam Schard, Aiden West, Bryson Wyman, Bentley Wyman; sister: Darlene Guida of Bellevue, NE; brother: David Fender of Nemaha, NE, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents: Nathan and Jessie Fender, two brothers: Donald Fender, Richard Fender, two sisters: Elaine Lamb, Gloria Frazier, brother-in-law: Lou Guida, sister-in-law: Karen Fender, husband: John Locke, and son: Donald W. Owen Jr. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael McGregor officiating. The Pallbearers will be Bryan Reynolds, Randall Reynolds, Mitchell Schard, Alex Schard, Brandon Wyman, Devin Schard, and Hailey Watson. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 P.M., Monday, March 21, 2016 at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Memorials to the Family (A suitable charity will be chosen at a later date).
