KEVIN MICHAEL HOUSH 1969 – 2025 It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Michael Housh, beloved father, husband, and dedicated public servant. Kevin passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from glioblastoma at the age of 55, surrounded by his family. He was a cherished member of our family and a true pillar of strength in our community. Kevin was born on July 16, 1969, to Michael and LaDonna Housh in Omaha, NE, Kevin remained an Omaha native and graduated from Roncalli Catholic High School as part of the class of 1987. After high school, Kevin joined the Nebraska National Guard and quickly developed a fervent passion to serve his community. In 1991, Kevin joined the Omaha Police Department where he served as a SWAT Sergeant, Uniform Patrol Sergeant, and Treasurer of the Omaha Police Officers Association. He served OPD with honor and unwavering commitment for nearly 30 years, earning the respect of his colleagues and the gratitude of those he protected. Following his retirement from the Omaha Police Department, Kevin continued his service as an officer of the Plattsmouth Police Department and Security Manager for Physicians Mutual. His career in law enforcement was a testament to his dedication to justice, safety, and deep care for others. He was a steadfast protector, and his work left an indelible mark on the lives of many. Beyond his professional life, Kevin was a loving husband to his devoted wife, Stacia, and an incredible father to his five children. His love, guidance, and wisdom were always present, shaping the lives of his children and their families. He was their role model, mentor and friend, always offering strength, support and unconditional love. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Stacia Housh; his five children and their spouses: Lauren Cruz and her husband Marc; Kaela Housh and her fiancé Adam Darling; Jordan Housh-Rodgers and her husband Jacob; Brooklyn Samler and her husband Dawson; and Connor Housh and his significant other Abbie Beckmann; three grandchildren: Greyson, Forest, Blakely, and two other grandchildren soon to be born; his two sisters; René Kremer and her husband Tim and Christie Housh; his brother-in-law: Nick Hansen and his wife Kristy; his mother-in-law: Jeanie Smith and his father-in-law Eric Smith; his father-in-law: Darwin Hansen and mother-in-law Helen; and a host of nieces and nephews, family, friends and colleagues whose lives were touched by his kindness, integrity and dedication. He is preceded in death by his parents: Michael and LaDonna Housh. Kevin will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
