MARTIN GREGORY DEARDEN 1961 – 2026 Martin Gregory Dearden, age 65 of Plattsmouth, NE, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at his residence. Martin was born on March 5, 1961, the son of Charles Crane Dearden and Francis Mason in Fairfax, VA. He was raised and schooled in Fairfax until the age of 12 when he moved with his family to Missoula, MT. He graduated from high school in 1979 from Butte, MT. He spent his youth hunting, fishing and backpacking with his family in the mountains of Montana. After graduating from high school, Martin enlisted in the United States Air Force serving from 1980 to 1992. He stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE when he retired in 1992. Martin moved back to Virginia for a while, and then he returned to Bellevue where he worked for Curl Serv for the U.S. Navy. Martin moved to Plattsmouth in 2015. He collected cars and coins. He loved cats and leaves behind his beloved “Poppy". He is survived by his wife: Sheila Dearden of Steinauer, NE; special friend: Regena Thomsen of Plattsmouth, NE; his children: Ashley E. Dearden of Los Angeles, CA and Daniel C. Dearden of Cincinnati, OH; his siblings: Cheryl Dearden of San Diego, CA, Debby Dearden of Vancouver, WA, Cliff Dearden of Bozeman, MT, Rebekah Dearden, Shaun Dearden and Heather Dearden Johnson all of Virginia; his step-mother: Carol Neill Dearden of central Montana; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles C. Dearden and Francis Mason, his brother: Charles C. Dearden Jr., and his son: Michael Dearden. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Roby Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Offutt Air Force Base Funeral Honor Guard. Martin’s Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
