MYRON LEROY JOHNSON 1935 – 2018 Myron Leroy Johnson age 82 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Plattsmouth Care and Rehabilitation Center. Myron was born on July 4, 1935 to Oscar Leroy and Dorothy Janette (Baker) Johnson in Willmar, MN. He was raised and schooled in Willmar. Myron worked construction with his father until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served his county for four years during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, Myron returned to Willmar and started his career as a truck driver. Myron met Betty A. James and they were later married on June 12, 1955 in Willmar. Myron and Betty had made their home in Willmar, MN, Macedonia, IA, La Vista, Plattsmouth, and Beaver Lake, NE. He drove truck for the Union Pacific Railroad and later for TransWood in Louisville, NE, until he retired at age seventy five. He was a member of the Teamsters Union for over forty years, Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543, Hugh J. Kerns American Legion Post #56, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 all of Plattsmouth. He is survived by his son: Bruce Johnson and wife Nancy of Plattsmouth, NE; daughter: Patti Ehmke and husband Brian of Nebraska City, NE; seven grandchildren: Jessica Freeman and husband Aaron, Holt Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Christopher Johnson and wife Samantha, Andrew Cole and wife Brittney, Kaitlyn Johnson, and Rylee Ehmke; five great grandchildren: Emma David, Hanna David, Zoe Freeman, Blake Johnson, and Owen Johnson; sister: Ardell Friehl and husband Arnold of Willmar, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar and Dorothy Johnson, infant son: Kevin Johnson, wife: Betty Johnson, son: Michael Johnson, and sister: Margaret Norsten. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. with family greeting relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 9, 2018 at Roby Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating. The Pallbearers will be Jessica Freeman, Holt Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Andrew Cole, and Kaitlyn Johnson. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Brittney Cole, Rylee Ehmke, Samantha Johnson, Dennis Sorrell, Roger Hollander, Jeff Osthus, and Brad Osthus. Military Rites will be conducted by the Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 of Plattsmouth, NE. His final resting place will be at Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
