NETTIE ALMA HENRY 1931 – 2025 Nettie Alma (Long) Henry, age 93 of Omaha, NE peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at The Lighthouse in Omaha. Alma was born on October 24, 1931, to Clifton Long and Mary Elizabeth (Stowell) Long in Galena, OH. She was raised in Big Point, MS on the family farm and she attended school in Moss Point, MS. During her high school years, Alma enjoyed being a member of the girls basketball team and she graduated in 1949. She met the love of her life Kenneth “Kenny” Dale Henry and they later married June 18, 1950 in Big Point, MS. Alma and Kenny began their life together living in a trailer and following the construction projects of the Missouri Valley Dredging Company until 1961. At that time, they returned to Kenny’s hometown and established a permanent residence in Plattsmouth, NE to raise their three children. Alma was a stay-at-home mother until her children graduated from high school. She then worked for several years at the Steve Davis Insurance Company and then for eighteen years at Roby Funeral Home. Alma was a hard-working homemaker, a loving wife, and a proud mother. She is survived by her two sons: Kenneth R. Henry and his wife Cheryl of Omaha, NE and Charles R. Henry and his wife Tanis of Seattle, WA; her son-in-law: Robert E. George of Ogden, UT; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her brother: Tom Long and his wife Gloria of Big Point, MS; her sister: Pearl Langston of Carriere, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Alma is preceded in death by her parents: Clifton and Mary Long, three brothers: Robert E. Long, Billy Long, John Long Sr. two sisters: Vera Coleman, Elsie Furby, daughter: Linda D. George, stepdaughter: Vicki Bird, and her husband Kenneth D. Henry. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth, NE. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth Rev. Lee Wigert officiating. The Pallbearers will be Adam George, Robert George, Matthew Henry, Michael Henry, Thomas Henry, William Henry, and Megan Legband. Her Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
