Norma Ruth Murabito

NORMA RUTH MURABITO 1937 – 2026 Norma Ruth (Martin) Murabito, age 88 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed away on January 21, 2026 at Prestige Care Center of Plattsmouth. Norma was born on April 12, 1937, to Richard Nelson Martin and Mary Magdalene (Funk) Martin in Prairie Grove, AR. She was raised and educated in Prairie Grove and graduated from Prairie Grove High School with the Class of 1956. Norma met the love of her life, Roy Rosario Murabito, and the two were united in marriage on December 8, 1955, in Prairie Grove. Together, Norma and Roy shared a life of adventure and devotion, living in many locations throughout the United States and overseas while Roy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following Roy’s service, they made their home in Murray, NE, before settling permanently in Mynard, NE, where Roy completed the home they had long dreamed of building together. Norma was a devoted and hard-working homemaker, and above all, a loving mother and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. Norma was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Bellevue, Nebraska Chapter. She was also honored to serve as a Lady of the Realm with the Plattsmouth Harvest Festival. She is lovingly survived by her two children: Samuel Martin Murabito of Plattsmouth, NE and Dr. Maria Olberding and her husband Mark of Collins, IA; five grandchildren: Nicholas Murabito and his wife Katie, Rebecca Murabito, Ryan Olberding, James “Jamie” Olberding, and Joseph Olberding; her brother: Tim Martin of Prairie Grove, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents: Richard and Mary Martin, her husband: Roy Murabito, her brother: Orval Patton, and her sister: Lila Ford. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Her Final Resting Place will be at Collins Evergreen Cemetery in Collins, IA. The family suggests Memorials to the Plattsmouth Library, American Cancer Society, or Parkinson’s Foundation.
