Mr. Patrick John O'Shea Sr.

PATRICK JOHN O'SHEA Sr. 1934 – 2013 Patrick John O'Shea Sr. Age 78 of Bellevue, NE passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Douglas County Health Center in Omaha, NE. He was born on December 17, 1934 to Timothy Patrick and Alice Julia (Bardon) O'Shea in Egg Harbor City, NJ. He was raised and schooled in Egg Harbor City and graduated from Egg Harbor City High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1953. While serving in the Air Force he met the love of his life, Estelle Marie Long and they later married on January 31, 1955 in Sacramento, CA. Patrick and Estelle made their home and raised their children in several different locations while he served in the Air Force, finally settling in Bellevue, NE in 1970. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and later retired from the Air Force in 1973, after served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a Postal Carrier for the US Postal Service for twenty years, retiring in 1997. Patrick was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellevue, NE. He is survived by his Wife: Estelle O'Shea of Bellevue, NE, Three Daughters: Susan O'Brien & husband Tim of Creston, IA, Maureen Jewell of Bellevue, NE, Kelly Price & husband Jim of Plattsmouth, NE, Four Sons: Patrick O'Shea Jr. & wife Cathy of Plattsmouth, NE, Joseph T. O'Shea & wife Debbie of Bellevue, NE, Michael O'Shea & wife Gayle of Bloomington, IL, Brian O'Shea of Bellevue, NE, Fifteen Grandchildren, Twenty Four Great Grandchildren, Four Sisters: Nancy Kuenzner of Egg Harbor City, NJ, Joan Pinkas of Egg Harbor City, NJ, Betty Declementi of Brigantine, NJ, Barbara Camello & husband John of Egg Harbor City, NJ, 2 Brothers: Billy O'Shea of Egg Harbor City, NJ, Danny O'Shea of Egg Harbor City, NJ, and Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. Patrick was preceded in death by his Parents: Tim and Alice O'Shea, Two Sisters: Madeline O'Shea and Irene O'Shea, Three Brothers: Jack O'Shea, Edward O'Shea, and James O'Shea, and Two Great Grandchildren: Patrick O'Shea IV and Brayden Skillings. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellevue, NE with Father Dennis Hanneman officiating, John Johnson as vocalist, Jacquie Kallman as organist, Pete Heineman as Bag Piper, Nancy Erbst as lector, Debbie O'Shea and Michael O'Shea as readers, and Ray Guggenburger and Larry Reed as acolytes. Pallbearers will be P.J. O'Shea, Jerade O'Shea, Michael O'Shea Jr., Leo O'Brien, Andrew O'Shea, Jerade O'Shea II, and Ryan O'Shea. Interment is at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Military Rites will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Military Rites Team of Bellevue, NE. The Family suggests Memorials to Alzheimer's Association, Midlands Chapter and/or for Masses.
