PHYLLIS JEAN MAMORAN 1927 – 2016 Phyllis Jean (Carey) Mamoran age 89 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Nebraska Medicine – Bellevue in Bellevue, NE. She was born on May 13, 1927 to William Ralph and Ora Belle (Hutchison) Carey in Plattsmouth, NE. Phyllis was born, raised, and schooled in Plattsmouth. She graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1945. She met Warren C. Mamoran and they were later married on June 26, 1964 in Plattsmouth. She was a homemaker and she had worked as a seamstress at Pendelton Mills in Omaha, NE and later she worked for the City of Plattsmouth as a book keeper for the Board of Public Works. She was a member of First Christian Church since 1973 and she was the past church president in 1977, Christian Women's Fellowship, Past Noble Grand and Past District Deputy President of the Bud of Promise Rebekah Lodge #40 all of Plattsmouth, and the Past Chief Matriach of Hesperian L.E.A. #2 of Omaha, NE. Phyllis is survived by her cousin: Don Baker of Plattsmouth, NE; her beloved adopted son: Kent McCoy and wife Kathy of Ralston, NE; her dear adopted daughter: Tracy McCoy of Plattsmouth, NE; her four grandchildren: Madison McCoy, Jackson McCoy, Traceson Skalberg, Cayson Skalberg; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Ora Carey, husband: Warren C. Mamoran, two aunts: Claude (Nellie) Hutchison, Marie Jackson, and step-son: Garth D. Mamoran. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., with family greeting relatives and friends from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at The Nebraska Masonic Home Chapel in Plattsmouth with Pastor Michael Lincoln officiating, Ricki Duffy as vocalist, and Chris Abbott as pianist. The Pallbearers will be Kent McCoy, Jackson McCoy, Jim McCoy, Darren Merrill, Nate Morris, and Mike Morris. Her Final Resting Place will be next to her husband Warren at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests memorials to First Christian Church in Plattsmouth.
