RAYMOND JOHN KRISKEY 1933 – 2021 Raymond John Kriskey age 87 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Hillcrest Country Cottages Long Term Care in Papillion, NE. John was born on December 14, 1933 to Raymond Theodore and Marjorie Alice (Denson) Kriskey in Plattsmouth. He was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth and John graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and John proudly served his country for four years during the Korean War. After serving his country, John attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. John met Marcia Mae Matthews, they were married on June 24, 1961 in Omaha, NE and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. John and Marcia made their home and raised their children in Plattsmouth. John worked as carpenter and he was a 50-plus year member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 333 in Omaha. He loved fishing, hunting, his family, and his Catholic faith. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth and a 60-plus year member of the Knights of Columbus Father Shine Council #1966. John is survived by his wife: Marcia Kriskey of Plattsmouth, NE; three daughters: Jean Zutz and husband Jerry of Sioux Falls, SD; Jakki Siefken and husband Bob of Crescent, IA; Mary Beth Kriskey of Blair, NE; two sons: John M. Kriskey of Austin, TX; Tom Kriskey and wife Jennifer of Georgetown, TX; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Bill Brittain of Plattsmouth, NE; Roger Matthews and wife Nancy of Asheville, NC; sister-in-law: Benita Davis of Onawa, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Marjorie Kriskey and his sister: Peg Brittain. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M., on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. The Funeral Mass with be held at 10:30 A.M., on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth with Father Michael Houlihan officiating, Leo Sand as acolyte, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones as organist. The Pallbearers are members of the Knights of Columbus Father Shine Council #1966; Ken Aylor, Michael Cahalane, Nick Halmes, James Ulrich, Lynn Vinduska, and Richard Wassinger. Military Rites will be conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard, Military Funeral Honors Team of Bellevue. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests Memorials to the Church of the Holy Spirit or for Masses.
