SARAH ELLEN COX 1931 – 2023 Sarah Ellen Cox age 91 of Papillion, NE formerly of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion. She was born on September 11, 1931 to Charles Edgar Cox and Hesper Rebecca (Wantland) Cox in Worth, MO. Sarah was raised and schooled in Worth and later in Shenandoah, IA. She made her home in Maryville, MO where she worked as waitress in various cafes and restaurants and as a maintenance worker at her apartment complex in Maryville. In the mid 1980’s, she retired and moved to Plattsmouth. Later Sarah lived at Hillcrest Silver Ridge in Gretna, NE and Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion. Sarah was a was a member of Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 Auxiliary and Hugh J. Kerns American Legion Post #56 Auxiliary both of Plattsmouth. She is survived by her three sons: George H. Bax and his wife Sueann of Plattsmouth, NE; William R. Wallace and his wife Shelly of Lincoln, NE; Ora V. Bax and his wife Diane of Sweetwater, TX; seven grandchildren: Christy Rubenstein and her husband Mike, Leroy Bax and his wife Christine, Jesse Bax and his wife Abagail, Alex Wallace, Zachary Bax, Ashley Bax, and Brittney Bax; eleven great grandchildren: Damien Burkhardt, Heven Burkhardt, Alaina Rubenstein, Sophia Rubenstein, Sabastian Rubenstein, Cody Bax, Lilly Bax, Jackson Bax, Nathan Bax, Riley Bax, and Marcus Lopez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Hesper Cox and her sister: Ruby Marie Coverdale. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 20, 2023 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Pastor Terry Anderson officiating. The Pallbearers will be Dennis Anderson, George Bax, Leroy Bax, Damien Burkhardt, Mike Kahler, and Mike Rubenstein. Her Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
