STEPHEN FRANKLIN PTACEK 1954 – 2018 Stephen “Steve” Franklin Ptacek age 64 of Plattsmouth, NE passed away at work on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He was born on April 30, 1954 to Richard Franklin and Rita Frances (Donovan) Ptacek in Omaha, NE. Steve was raised, schooled, and resided in Plattsmouth for most of his life. He was married to Victoria Lee Ulrich on July 16, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. Steve was a hardworking man who loved his family. He was a talented musician who passed his love for music onto his children and grandchildren. Steve was also a wonderful storyteller. He was known to get excited on occasion describing his latest fishing adventure or cheering for his horse down the stretch. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years: Victoria Lee Ptacek; his eight children: Kathryn Louise Blackwell (Jason), Nicholas Stephen Ptacek (Janey), Erin Marie Hoyt (Mike), Benjamin Richard Ptacek (Megan), Samuel Lee Ptacek, Rebecca Elizabeth Ptacek (Jason), Rachael Claire Ptacek, and Josephine Grace Ptacek; seventeen grandchildren: Tristan Scott Brodersen, Beau Stephen Brodersen, Carly Victoria Blackwell, Vincent Alexander Blackwell, Zachary Jensen Blackwell, Jordan Elayne Karcher, Rose Nichole Ptacek, Madison Julieann Camplese, William Broderick Macken, Anastasia Leigh Macken, Acelyn Rene Camplese, Logan Michael Hoyt, Brianna Nichole Hoyt, Curtis Alexander Hoyt, Andrew James Hoyt, Francesca Lou Ptacek, Lucille Elizabeth Burns; two great-grandchildren: Zaiden James Brodersen and Keira Elizabeth Mae Brodersen; two sisters: Rita Jeanne Wesely and Theresa Marie Ptacek; five brothers: Michael Christopher Ptacek (Robin), Patrick Joseph Ptacek, Thomas James Ptacek (Joann), Robert Francis Ptacek, and Mark Andrew Ptacek; sister-in law, Patricia Ptacek; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Rita Ptacek; two brothers: Richard Leo Ptacek and John Girard Ptacek; sister: Mary Rita Ptacek; brother-in-law: David Wesely; and sister-in-law: Amy Ptacek. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, followed by Vigil. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Michael Houlihan officiating, Theresa Ptacek as lector, Nick Halmes and Jim Ulrich as acolytes, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones as organist. The Pallbearers will be Michael Ptacek, Patrick Ptacek, Thomas Ptacek, Robert Ptacek, Mark Ptacek, and Michael Montgomery. Final Resting Place will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plattsmouth.
