SUSAN JOAN ZWEIBAHMER 1951 – 2024 Susan “Sue” Joan (Watson) Zweibahmer, age 73 of Plattsmouth, NE entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 19, 2024, at CHI Health Midlands Community Hospital in Papillion, NE. She was born on February 9, 1951, to George Newton Watson and Patricia Joan (Hewitt) Watson in Paris, IL. She was raised and schooled in several locations as her father was serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. Sue graduated from Madrid High School in Madrid, Spain. She met the love of her life Steven “Steve” Albert Zweibahmer, while he was stationed at Torrejón Air Force Base, Madrid, Spain where he was serving in the U.S Air Force. They were later married on October 18, 1969, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, IA. Sue and Steve made their home in Albuquerque NM, San Antonio, TX, and in 1985 they settled in Plattsmouth, NE. Sue had worked at J.C. Penny’s, Commercial Federal Bank, and later at Standard Heating and Air as an administrator assistant. Sue was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, Catholic Daughters, P.C.C.W., Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 Auxiliary, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 Auxiliary all of Plattsmouth. Sue loved (and worried for) her family. This included not just relatives and friends, but also every foster dog and cat, her dogs, and all her granddogs and cats. She really seemed to be a dog whisperer. She spoiled them with treats, cuddles, and endless love. She was quite witty, kind, and creative. Every year she loved to share this with friends and family with treasured handmade ornaments. In recent years she had also taken up writing down quotes, memories and creating poetry. She is survived by her three daughters: Shelley Stempek and husband Trent of Duncan, NE; Sabrina Parriott of Plattsmouth, NE; Stephanie Balwanz and husband Steve of Papillion, NE; seven grandchildren: Cassandra, Kade, wife Trynity, Sienna, Trey, Teegan, Tabbi, and Trevan; one great-granddaughter: Delylah; two sisters: Deborah Balliett and her husband Kent of Concord, NC and Teresa Rowlett of Lubbock, TX; her brother: Randy Watson of Lubbock, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents: George and Patricia Watson, her husband: Steve Zweibahmer, and her sister: Barbara McDonald. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 26, 2024, at Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Sean Timmerman officiating and Terry Little as vocalist. The Final Resting Place will be at Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha. The Family suggests Memorials be made in her honor to the non-profit organizations: Happy Paws Plattsmouth (pet rescue), Hands, Hearts, and Paws (pet rescue), and Special Olympics, or the family for future designation.
